Sport Drink Can Minimize Injury
Function of sport drink is not only prevent the occurrence of dehydration for those who are active sport. Addition nutrients and other important oxygen also help metabolic processes to maintain the body’s cells. Sport drink is a concept that is made to restore the lost needs body fluids due to exercise or other physical activity.
Compared with water, soft drink has advantages because it has added some components of vitamin that is needed by the body after exercise, such as carbohydrates, vitamin B complex and electrolyte ions. Even some sport drink has contained protein and several components such as coenzyme Q-10.
Metabolism will be better if in the sports drink is added coenzyme Q-10. Role of cofactor Q-10 is important because 95 percent of the formation of energy in the body is assisted by this coenzyme. The main role is to help change the feed carbohydrate, fat, and protein as source of energy that is ready used by body.
A study that has published in Science and Medicine in Sport and Exercise (2004) showed that the sport drink which is containing carbohydrate and protein can increase the physical condition of athletes significantly, and reduce the risk of muscle injury.
And research in the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise (2003) showed, soft drink consumer that get extra protein and carbohydrate have the resilience of the body to exercise 36.5 percent longer than those who only consume sport drink that is only added carbohydrate.

During sports or workouts I use a sports drink made from water, fruit juice and a little salt. Protein is helpful in the recovery drinks used after exercising to rebuild muscles.
