Drinking tea has become the habit of many societies. However, is tea a diuretic (makes dehydration), isn’t it? Understanding the long-circulating in the community is denied by the researchers noted in the news BBC News. Tea does not only help provide hydration in the body like water, but also prevent the disease. Tea is believed by researchers that have flavonoids which are the key to promote health. Flavonoids may help to fight heart disease and some types of cancer.

Polyphenol antioxidant found in many foods and plants, including tea leaves allegedly helps prevent damage to the cells. Nutritionist from Kings College London, Dr Carrie Ruxton found that drinking 3 to 4 cups of tea per day may reduce the possibility of a heart attack. There was research that said doing the same thing can also protect them from getting cancer, but the results of the research was uncertain.

Other health benefit of drinking tea is to prevent deposits of plaque on teeth and tooth holes, as well as strong bones. Since tea also contains fluoride. Dr Ruxton said that drinking tea was better than drinking water. Water is better for hydration of the body. But tea can replace body fluids and contains antioxidants, so it has 2 benefits.

Studies on caffeine showed that drinking high amounts of caffeine can cause dehydration only. So that all thought that caffeinated beverages can make people lose body fluids. However, even though you have to drink tea or coffee is very, very strong though, the real difficulty is created, you still will increase in the body fluids.
