Foods for Bone Health

Our bone reach peak strength in young adult age. But this strength will be reduced in the middle of old age. In the woman’s bone strength is decreased dramatically after menopause. This is related to decline in value of hormone estrogen and osteoporosis. But do not worry, it appears that there is still a way to maintain bone strength through eating the right food, especially for those who have started to enter the middle of old age. These are the right food to maintain bone strength:

Milk
It cannot doubt that calcium is a source of strength of bone. Adults under the age of 50 years requires an average of 1000 mg calcium and those aged above 50 years require an average of 1200 mg calcium. While a glass of fresh milk contains +300 mg calcium.

Yogurt
A glass of yogurt also has calcium that is almost the same as the milk.

Sardine
Another food that is good for bones is sardine. In addition, sardine is also rich in protein which are needed by the body.

White Mustard
White mustard is rich of vitamins and antioxidants. White mustard also contains calcium, even almost equal with a glass of milk.

Tempe, Tofu, and many more
Foods soybean based product like tempe and tofu are very rich of calcium to supply the bones. Isoflavon is the most substances in soybean with almost the same effect as estrogen so that can prevent osteoporosis and other menopause complications.
